January has flown by! Have you kept your new year’s resolution? The Recreation team looks forward to what is in store for February with our Monday vendors returning for your shopping pleasure, Valentine’s Day fun, Friday entertainment and the introduction of the film series “Planet Earth” on the big screen. As always, we love to hear your feedback. Please feel free to drop by the Events office or give us a call and let us know if you have any questions, concerns or recommendations for us, we would love to hear them! We hope that you enjoy the month!

February 1st at 2:00pm in the Chapel – “Randy & Shirley” return to play the favourites.
February 8th at 2:00 pm in the Chapel - A longtime favourite performer at Luther Village, Al Crawford strums the hits and may even get you singing!
February 28th at 7:00 pm in the Great Hall - King Street Brass returns to Luther Village for an evening of instrumental music.
February Special Events/Speakers:
February 14th at 3:00pm in the Great Hall - Happy Valentine’s Day! Join us for Valentine’s festivities with entertainment by pianist and guitarist duo “Silvia Dee and the Boyfriend”.
February 15th at 10:30am in the Chapel - Join us for another set of TED Talk videos with discussion to follow. TED (Technology, Education, and Design) Talks are a great way to continue learning!
February 15th & 22nd - If you have not seen the BBC series “Planet Earth” narrated by David Attenborough (or even if you have) now is your chance to enjoy it on the big screen. Planet Earth documentaries are a visual and educational delight not to be missed. The series will continue in March so be sure to check your calendar!
February 21st at 7:30pm in the Chapel - Gilbert & Sullivan Travelogues present Hungary & Czech Republic, $2.00 at the door.
February Outings & Classes:
February 6th from 2:00 - 3:00pm in the Great Hall - Join guest artist Anne Williamson to create your own Valentine’s Day card. The class is free and no sign up is required.
February 22nd - KW Symphony presents “Paints and Pops” that blends pop art, performance and music. Featuring speed painter JESSGO and the hits of David Bowie, George Gershwin, The Beatles and more! $50 includes ticket and transportation. Please note this is an evening performance. Sign up at the front desk, spaces limited.
February 28th - Conestoga Mall shopping trip. Taxi departing 10:30am and returning 1:30pm. Please note that this is an independent trip (no staff will be attending). Cost: $12 return. Sign up at the front desk.
