Residents of our Parkview Suites (memory care) enjoyed some art therapy this afternoon. Our painting group is a place where individuals with all different artistic abilities can come and let the paintbrush guide them.

In celebration of Volunteer Appreciation Week Janet (LV volunteer) & Edith (LV resident) share their volunteer experiences and why they believe volunteering is so important. This article also explores the benefits of volunteering and provides some community resources that will help you explore volunteering opportunities. 

We were honoured when the son of a long-time resident wanted to show his appreciation for the care his mom received over the last twelve years - most recently on the Memory Care floor. He told our Executive Director that he wanted to do something “that would make the nurses lives easier” as he recounted the times he witnessed staff going above and beyond in their care of his mother,

Our neighbor The Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex is expanding! We had the opportunity recently to connect with our friend and community partner, Jaye Kuntz, Supervisor, Leisure Programs at The City of Waterloo to learn more about this project. We can hardly wait for this new space to open beside our campus!

We are so grateful for all the thoughtful donations we have been given. We wanted to share some information about these incredible organizations. 

It is important we take a few moments and celebrate the moments that bring us joy. We have found throughout this pandemic the one thing that remains constant is the feeling of community and connection. Our families are a large part of this as well. In this story we share a video discussing how one of our residents is doing during this time. 

It is wonderful to see our residents take the lead and host groups that are important to them right here on site. The ‘Retired Women Teachers of Ontario’ have many chapters all over the province. Luther Village is where the Waterloo Chapter comes together as a few of our residents are members.
