We kicked off the month of June with Pride awareness by raising the Progress Pride flag at the main entrance off Father David Bauer Drive. We welcomed a speaker from Spectrum, a local community organization that supports the wellbeing of 2SLGBTQIA+ members in the Waterloo Region. They shared important perspectives, information and answered our questions at the Rainbow Diversity Training 101.

Our Kinesiologist Nancy led staff and residents through the annual Lutherwood Steps for Kids fundraiser walk, where participants exercised for a good cause!

We enjoyed entertainment, including several evening performances with the K-W Community Orchestra and Spiritus Ensemble and our much-enjoyed regular performers. We celebrated all fathers and father figures at the Village as we enjoyed doughnuts, pretzels and beverages while listening to Kevin Coates perform. We hope residents felt extra special that day!

Our learning continued with information sessions on feet and footwear, pelvic health, and "From Age-ing to Sage-ing" with Professor Martina Steiger.

On Parkview Suites (Memory Care), residents started the month by planting their garden boxes on the patio. The Strawberry Social and lemonade making was a delight and reminded us of the tastes of summer.

Everyone came out relaxed from the spa day in the Muskoka Lounge having either their nails done, a face mask or hand massage - or all three!

We look forward to taking advantage of the nice weather, frequenting Waterloo Park and other outdoor amenities surrounding our Village for the rest of the summer!
